The Burns' dinner and ceilidh on 26 Jan 2024 was a great success. We were welcomed by the piper and our president.  Simon Martin's Address to the Haggis was magnificent, Dawntreader Ceilidh Band and chef Gianni Provenzano’s food were excellent, and the dancing was vigorous! Seventy-two people sat for supper, including the piper and band.

Tickets were £35 for non-members and £20 for members.  Of the 66 guests, 13 were non-members, including 6 doctors and one medical student with her partner, who recited an updated humorous version of the Selkirk Grace, which acknowledged the vegetarians among us! There were 12 PMS members, including 3 new members, and the rest were guests of members. Sadly, Jonathan and Sue Frappell could not come.

Most of the members, non-members and guests who attended lived in the South Hams.  We were unable to hire a more central venue and the Society may consider arranging future social events in areas where many members and doctors live, such as Yelverton.
